How to win it
Strong applicants clearly meet every requirement: must graduate during the 2025-26 school year from an oakland district or charter high school; have earned a 2.00 unweighted gpa as of your spring 11th grade unofficial transcript; plan to attend a 4-year, 2-year, or career technical education program full time. Apply early and double-check the deadline, since local awards often have small applicant pools and reward the well-prepared.
