Applications are now being accepted for the Sara D. Hanes Memorial Scholarship, a $1,000 award for the upcoming academic year for students pursuing education in the medical field offered by the Piedmont Walton Hospital Auxiliary.
Eligible applicants must be residents of Walton, Athens-Clarke, Newton, Oconee, Rockdale, Gwinnett, Morgan, Barrow or Madison counties and must be studying in a health-care-related field.
Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
