To stand out for this scholarship, make sure your two letters of recommendation are chosen carefully, selecting a teacher or counselor who knows your academic strengths and an employer or community contact who can speak to your character and community contributions. Since the scholarship values STEM leadership and service, ask your recommenders to highlight specific examples of how you have made a meaningful impact beyond the classroom. Whether you are in Hawaii or on the US continent, you are eligible, so take the time to present yourself as someone who is not just pursuing a STEM degree but actively using it to benefit others.
