Be a resident of the State of Hawaii; Demonstrate financial need; Be in good academic standing by maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0; Pursuing a degree in the following fields of study: Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedical, Biotechnology, Gerontology, Health Science, Medical Assisting, Medical Laboratory, Medical Technology, Medicine, Molecular and Cell Biology, Molecular Biosciences and Bio.
How to win it
Make sure your application clearly shows your Hawaii residency and highlights your financial need, since both are required for this scholarship. Keep your GPA at or above 2.5 and confirm that your degree program falls within the eligible health and science fields, such as Biology, Health Science, Medicine, or a related area. A focused personal statement that connects your academic goals to your chosen field will help you stand out to the Hawaii Community Foundation reviewers.
