Who qualifies
Recipients must be residents of Ko'olau Poko, O'ahu (region measured by zip code: Kualoa, Hakupu'u, Waiakane, Waiahole, Ka'alaea, Waihe'e Kahalu'u, Heeia, Kane'ohe, Kailua, Waimanalo); Demonstrated community service and/or participation in athletics measured through mandatory application essay questions; Submit one (1) letter of recommendation from a community organization or coach who can comment on applicant's overall character, achievement and contribution to serve the greater community

Show your deep roots in the Ko'olau Poko community by writing application essays that highlight specific examples of your community service or athletic involvement. Choose a recommender from a community organization or coach who knows your character and contributions well, since their letter is required and carries real weight. Make sure your zip code confirms your residency in one of the eligible Ko'olau Poko areas before you apply.
