The 2027-2028 HCF Common Scholarship Application opens on December 1, 2026. Apply by February 1, 2027, 4 PM Hawai’i Standard Time.
Be a resident of the State of Hawai’i; Demonstrate financial need; Be a full-time student; Be an undergraduate or graduate student at a two or four year college or university; GPA of 2.7 or above; One letter of recommendation from a non-related teacher or community services member speaking to the student’s community service and/or leadership abilities.; Strong community service experience.
How to win it
To stand out for this scholarship, make sure your application highlights your community service history and leadership roles in depth, since these are central to what the selection committee is looking for. Choose a recommender, such as a teacher or community organization member, who knows your service work firsthand and can speak specifically to your contributions and leadership. Keep your GPA at or above 2.7, document your financial need clearly, and confirm you are enrolled full-time at your college or university in Hawaii.
