How to win it
Strong applicants clearly meet every requirement: open to students who submit an essay narrative about their okinawan experiences and/or interest in okinawan culture; two non-relative references and two letters of recommendation required. This award asks for an essay, 2 recommendations, a transcript, so give those pieces real time rather than rushing them. Apply early and double-check the deadline, since local awards often have small applicant pools and reward the well-prepared.
