The 2027-2028 HCF Common Scholarship Application opens on December 1, 2026. Apply by February 1, 2027, 4 PM Hawai’i Standard Time.
Be a resident of the State of Hawaii; Demonstrate financial need; Be in good academic standing by maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0; Be a graduate of a Hawaii Island high school or a Hawaii Island resident who obtained a homeschool high school diploma; Associate or Bachelor degree-seeking student.
How to win it
To win this scholarship, make sure your application clearly shows you graduated from a Hawaii Island high school or earned a homeschool diploma on Hawaii Island, and that you are pursuing a degree in fire science or as a Mobile Intensive Care Technician. Since the minimum GPA requirement is a 2.0, focus on demonstrating your financial need and keeping your academic standing solid to strengthen your case. Be thorough and honest in documenting your financial situation, as that is a key part of what the Hawaii Community Foundation will be evaluating.
