Hawai‘i Community Foundation has over $8 million a year available for scholarships from more than 300 funds to make the road to college—and graduation—possible.
The 2027-2028 HCF Common Scholarship Application opens on December 1, 2026. Apply by February 1, 2027, 4 PM Hawai’i Standard Time.
Demonstrate financial need; Minimum GPA of at least 2.7; Be an employee or dependent of an employees of ABC Stores, Company Island Gourmet Markets locations (Hawai'i, Nevada, Saipan and Guam), Basalt, Duke's Lane Market & Eatery, Lineage, or Island Country Markets.; Preference will be shown to students who have performed community service and who have extra curricular activities.
How to win it
To strengthen your application, highlight your connection to ABC Stores or one of the affiliated companies, and make sure your GPA meets the 2.7 minimum requirement. Since preference is given to students with community service and extracurricular involvement, be sure to clearly showcase those experiences in your application. Demonstrating financial need is also required, so gather any supporting documents that reflect your situation early in the process.
