The 2027-2028 HCF Common Scholarship Application opens on December 1, 2026. Apply by February 1, 2027, 4 PM Hawai’i Standard Time.
Be a resident of the State of Hawaii; Demonstrate financial need; Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0; Be an undergraduate junior, senior or graduate student; Enrolled in a four year college or university; Intend to major in a medical, educational or social work related field; Submit an essay on the following: Do you intend to work in a field that provides services for those who are emotionally, physica.
How to win it
To stand out for this scholarship, make sure your essay clearly expresses your commitment to serving emotionally, physically, or otherwise vulnerable populations, since that dedication is central to what this award values. You should highlight how your chosen field in medicine, education, or social work connects directly to that mission. Keep your GPA at or above 3.0 and be prepared to demonstrate financial need, as both are required to remain eligible.
