The 2027-2028 HCF Common Scholarship Application opens on December 1, 2026. Apply by February 1, 2027, 4 PM Hawai’i Standard Time.
Be a resident of the State of Hawaii; Demonstrate financial need; Be in good academic standing or by maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0; Resident of one of the following Kauai areas: Koloa (96756), including Omao & Poipu (96756), Lawai (96765) or Kalaheo (96741).; In a separate essay on the application, write about the following topic: Describe your understanding of the meaning of ‘aloh.
How to win it
Show the review committee that you are deeply rooted in your Kauai community by crafting a thoughtful, personal essay that explains what aloha genuinely means to you and how you live it out in your daily life. Since the minimum GPA requirement is a 2.0, focus on presenting your full application with care, making sure your financial need is clearly documented. Demonstrating authentic local pride and a sincere connection to the Koloa, Lawai, or Kalaheo area will help you stand out as a strong candidate.
