The 2027-2028 HCF Common Scholarship Application opens on December 1, 2026. Apply by February 1, 2027, 4 PM Hawai’i Standard Time.
Be a resident of the State of Hawaii; Demonstrate financial need; Be in good academic standing by maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0; Be a graduate of a Hawai'i Island public high school; Recipients who were awarded in the immediate prior year if such recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements and is in good academic standing; Self-identify as a paddler; Preference for stude.
How to win it
Focus on clearly expressing your identity as a paddler and how the sport has shaped you, since this is a key part of what makes you stand out for this scholarship. Make sure your application reflects your financial need and confirms you graduated from a Hawai'i Island public high school, as both are required. Keep your GPA at or above 2.0 and know that if you receive this award, you may be eligible to renew it in future years as long as you continue to meet the requirements.
