How to win it
Focus on clearly highlighting your AVID program participation in your application, since this is a core requirement and stronger involvement may give you an edge. If you are a current senior at Maui High School, King Kekaulike High School, or Molokai High School, emphasize that status as well, since seniors are preferred over previous graduates. Make sure your application reflects your financial need and confirms your Hawaii residency, and keep your GPA at or above the 2.7 minimum to stay eligible.
