The 2027-2028 HCF Common Scholarship Application opens on December 1, 2026. Apply by February 1, 2027, 4 PM Hawai’i Standard Time.
Be a resident of the State of Hawaii; Be a full time student; Be a college Junior, Senior or Graduate student; Attend an accredited four year college or university (excluding online universities and colleges); Intend to pursue a degree in Science; Be in good academic standing by maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0; 2 letters of recommendation; 1 letter from a professor or instructor within.
How to win it
To stand out for this scholarship, make sure at least one of your two recommendation letters comes from a professor or instructor in your science field, as this is a specific requirement that shows your academic commitment. Keep your cumulative GPA at or above 3.0 and confirm you are enrolled full time at an accredited four-year university, since online institutions are not eligible. Presenting yourself as a dedicated science student with strong faculty support will give your application its best chance.
